Rotary Kiln Furnace
The Rotary Kiln Reactor contains a cylindrical vessel, inclined slightly from the horizontal and rotated slowly about its longitudinal axis. The feedstock is fed into the upper end of the cylinder. As the kiln rotates, the material gradually moves toward the lower end. It may undergo a certain amount of stirring and mixing. In the Pearl group, we have two different diameters of rotary kiln reactors, 2 and 8 inches. in both reactors, hot gases pass along the kiln; it could be in the same direction as the process material (co-current) or the opposite direction (counter-current).
